Have you ever made a recipe only to find that it did not come out right or it did not taste very good?  Well, getting fit and sculpting your body is like cooking.  You need to start with all the right ingredients, specific directions and a great tasting recipe to end up with a final meal that leaves you happy. :)

With that said, in fitness you need to start by eating great tasting food that not only nourishes your body but also helps you loose weight and develop lean muscle.  Then you need to know how to exercise so you get the results you want.

Exercising has three components, aerobic (meaning movement activities like running), anaerobic refers to weight training and then stretching.  Aerobic exercise helps to reduce or maintain weight and it also keeps your internal organs functioning at optimal.  Weight training adds and defines muscle, additionally it increases strength and energy.  And of course, it is really important to stretch.  Your muscles will get tight after working out.  Stretching helps to relax and lengthen the muscles, increase flexibility and range of motion.  Plus it reduces the risk of injury.  And by being active, weight training and stretching you will feel great all around!

If you are new to working out it might be a good investment to get a personal trainer for a while.  This person can teach how to develop your body to get the results you want.  If you are already skilled in exercise then get to it!
