What does the “Rubber Band Affect” mean? Simply said, a person looses weight only to gain it back. Why does this happen? There are numerous reasons. Here are a few.
The first reason a person may regain weight is that perhaps they went on a good healthy plan and then decided to splurge again in not so healthy foods. It is easier and faster to put weight back on.
The second reason has to do with how a person lost their weight. If someone is put through a program is that is very intensive sometimes that new life is just not sustainable or enjoyable.
For example, if you are told to eat bland food and exercise 2 hours a day you may not enjoy that level of discipline or work. Sure in the end you might look great but can this program be maintained? Some people might be able to and some will not. If a person does stop the program chances are they will go back to their old ways of eating and gain the weight back.
